CHRONICLES 21
Refugees: Victims of Ethnic Engineering
by Boris Delic, Safeta Bisavac and Drago Kovacevic
Refugees are among the most traumatic "accompanists" of any war.
Massive expulsions or "voluntary" departures in fear for personal safety and property
are the tragic phenomenon the mankind has taken into the new millennium. Millions of
people in the territory of ex-Yugoslavia underwent that painful experience that deeply
scarred them. Over the past ten years, the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Serbia
has been in contact with tens of thousands of them in an attempt to help them to solve, at
least partially, their personal, family, property related and other problems. This book,
too, stands for homage to the fate of those desolate people.
